Problems associated with Kitchen Soap Dispensers

These products and devices, without a doubt, have bought ease in our lives. They save our time and energy. They’re convenient and hygienic. However, they also bring a lot of problems with them. There can be a problem in the mechanics of the device. Sometimes, there can be a problem in working of the device. Where there are advantages, there are disadvantages too. However, where there’s will, there’s a way.

Few of the problems associated with kitchen soap dispensers are addressed below:

  1. Soap Solidifies

After using the dispenser for sometime, there will be times when the liquid soap might block the pump of the dispenser. The soap may not follow its destined path and gets to other creases and solidifies. This, in turn, will disturb the whole process.

To undo this, the pump section will need to be removed. This will involve unscrewing of the device which seems to be a laborious process when one is in dire need of it. The pump part is kept in hot water so that the soap liquifies. When its cleaned, it can be reattached and made to work.

  1. Problems in Trigger Lowering

Sometimes, the trigger of the pump doesn’t move. It can be due to several causes. The press button may get jammed. The top may get twisted and gets locked leading to ineffectiveness of trigger. There can be a defect in the spring of that mechanism. If the spring is accessible and checked properly, it can be reversed. Aligning it back to that part of the pump may dislodge the spring. If all of these are not accessed, it means that the pump is not functional anymore. It needs to be replaced.

  1. No discharge of soap

If the dispenser is full of the product (i.e. soap) and it’s still not coming out, it means that soap is gathered around the tube and has blocked it. A problem in pump and trigger can also cause this problem. The placement of the tube can also cause the soap to not properly discharge. The gathering tube needs to be unscrewed. After unscrewing, a careful examination is in order. When all of this is done, the tube should be properly fitted. If it’s not done, the tube may not suck up the soap properly.

Sometimes, the tube itself maybe defective. There can e a hole or a split in it. In such cases, the tube and sometimes, the entire pump needs to be replaced.

  1. Trigger Depression

There can be a problem in the mechanism of the trigger. If the sink trigger, after dispensing the soap, does not come back up again after being pressed, then the spring mechanism is disturbed. There can be a loss of tension in the spring or it had acquired a position it should not be in. In this situation, the pump needs to be unscrewed and the spring needs to be checked. If the spring is fine, it can be used again otherwise the entire pump needs to be replaced.

  1. Movement of Pump

The movement of pump plays an important role in discharge of soap from dispenser. If the sink pump moves even after its use, then there is a problem in it. The problem can be incorrect installation. The pump section needs to be screwed in its proper place. Furthermore, the pump section should be straight. In case of liquid soap being used, the pump of the dispenser needs to be in proper casing.

The movement of the pump can sometimes get disturbed due to trigger being faulty which, in turn, is problematic due to its spring. This can cause the soap to spill all over the place. This can be rectified by looking in the pump mechanism and checking it properly. When checked and replaced, it will help in avoiding any spilling of the soap from the dispenser
